Stop Smoking

Just one more puff and I'm done with cigarettes. That is how smokers justify themselves and their actions to themselves and others. Smoking will eventually accompany you on a path to serious health problems. The majority of smokers do not want to quit, and those who do are unable to do so. This is most likely due to people's inability to figure out how to break this terrible habit. Keep in mind that your mind is your most powerful tool. Nothing can stop you if you make up your mind to do something. Learn some simple tricks to help you quit smoking.

Once you've made the decision to stop smoking, follow these simple steps to make the process go faster and easier.

1. Determine why you are smoking.

To begin, you must identify the source of your smoking. Try to come up with a 'excuse' for smoking. Try to figure out why you smoke, whether it's for stress, digestion, or just for fun. Now write down these lines and set a goal for yourself to not smoke in these situations. Instead, try to find healthier and more productive ways to deal with these excuses.

2. Suck a straw

Smoking has only a psychological effect on stress. It is primarily founded on the principle of inhaling and exhaling. However, if you still want to experience the same sensation, try sucking a straw. Smokers have a habit of going out and sucking on that cancer stick. This way, you can get a similar sensation while protecting your lungs. Try it whenever you feel the urge to smoke, which is usually after a meal.

3. Try to quit when you're feeling good

It also depends on your mood. When you are in a good mood, studies show that you are more likely to successfully quit smoking. If you are sad or stressed, however, you may find it difficult to quit smoking.

4. Put all of your cigarette money in a jar

You never realize how much money you waste on tar and cancer in your lungs. When you start trying to quit, you'll notice how much money you're saving, which will serve as a powerful motivator. Even if you smoke four or five cigarettes per day, you are unaware of how much money you spend in a week on cigarettes. So, when you quit smoking, make a jar to save all the money you'll save by not smoking. That, too, will serve as a powerful motivator.

5. Clean up

One of the most important aspects of quitting this habit is to remove all reminders of it. That could be a major catalyst. So the first thing you should do when you decide to quit is clean up your house. If you like to smoke, your home is likely to be littered with ashtrays and lighters. Toss them out. Clean everything in your house that smells like cigarettes. Keep air fresheners around the house. Nothing should remind you of cigarettes.

6. Get your feet moving.

If you were a regular smoker, you may experience withdrawal symptoms when you stop. So, the next time you feel like reaching for a cigarette, put on your jogging shoes and head outside. Take a walk with your friends or meet up with them. Anything that can keep you from smoking should be attempted.

7. Compliment yourself

Set goals for yourself and reward yourself when you achieve them. Purchase something lovely for yourself. Enjoy your time and eat well. Use the money you saved by quitting smoking to give yourself a reward. This will also serve as motivation for you to stop smoking.
